Mixed Media Art Dolls
I recently purchased "Mixed Media Doll Making (Redefining the doll with upcycled materials)" by Linda and Opie O'Brien. http://www.amazon.com/Mixed-Media-Doll-Making-Redefining-Materials/dp/1592537448
It is a very cool book and I was immediately inspired to create my own.I have kept to my own style but the book gave me a fantastic kick start. The bird lady is my favourite and incorporates a real bird skull and leg (with claw attached). Let me know what you think of them.

Printmaking Workshop
Today I ran a School Holiday Workshop in Printmaking. It was so much fun and the kids did some cool work.
We started the day making an ink block with found objects, with varying degrees of success. Then we made a rubber band face to do stamping with at the end of the day.
After a break we moved onto the 'serious stuff ' and made some monoprints. They created 3 prints... black ink on white paper, white on black and white on coloured paper.
We then created 'lino prints' using a special board thats really easy for kids to use (Zart Art printing foam - needs no sharp tools!) The children learnt how to create text in print by making a print with their name, they then did their own image, made a monster and made a place they would like to visit (real or imagined).
We all had a fantastic day and the kids were really proud of the work they created.
