I was asked to create a babushka character for a clients daughter. This is what I came up with. Happy artist and a very happy client. Horrah.

New work...

It has been a busy week in the studio. I had some pieces of plywood left over from some other projects so I decided to drag out the jigsaw and cut out some birds from them. I then proceeded to get busy with papers, paint, stamps and rub ons to create the works below...

I am loving how they turned out. Love to hear what you think.

I have also been busy finishing off an assemblage I started last week. Creating assemblages has become a favourite way to spend time in the studio these days. I love taking things that others have discarded and making them into works of art.

Band tees

For the past few years I have been designing t-shirts for the bands of a local primary school. I initally started them to have a cool momento for my daughters band, but they became so popular that the following year all 4 of the bands wanted one. Here are the designs for the bands of 2013 (The Rock Lobsters is my personal favourite).

New studio

Thought you might like to see some pics of the new studio. I am loving my new space and have heaps of room to move. I don't think the walls will be bare for long!

I'm back...

Wow,it feels like quite a while since I have logged in to say Hi. I apologise for the lack of updates. Moving house, taking a while to set up the new studio and life in general have slowed things down but I'm back.

I have just completed a commission which was alot of fun to do. I can't post images of it yet but once it has gone to its new home in a couple of weeks you can have some eye candy.
I am currently working on some more assemblage work as I just love re purposing things and giving them a new life.
Assemblage work in progress.
I also have some lovely big canvases waiting for me to give them life. Hmmm, what to paint, what to paint???

I would like to finish up  today with a farewell to Penelope Dullaghan from Illustration Friday. http://illustrationfriday.com/  This has been one of my favourite websites for a long time and thanks to all of Penelope's hard work it has become a great resource. All the best with your future endeavours Penelope.
Here is my entry to this weeks Illustration Friday. The theme is TRIBUTE.
