New works and exhibition invite...

Life has been pretty busy lately. I am doing a course in Pathology which is really interesting. I am looking forward to channelling my inner vampire when it is finished. I am also beavering away on getting work ready for my upcoming exhibition. Hope you like the latest works I have just completed.

Exhibition Preparation

Wow, my exhibition is starting to creep up on me. I have a partner in crime (Amy: aka Hola Holga) , a date (18 October) and a venue (1 Smith Street, Melbourne). Now I need to get into top gear and get the work ready.
I was very excited today - I got a full day in the studio with no interruptions! So I made a heap of progress on some of the partially done works I had piling up. I finished 3 pieces and made progress on a 4th. Happy days.

Work in progress....

Been a wee bit busy...

 

I had a great night at the opening of BSG Small Work in Fitzroy. Here are the works I entered. From top to bottom:Love is a Gamble, Natural Selection, Time and Space. If you got the chance to check it out I hope you enjoyed the show.


I have been busy drawing over the kids school holidays. With both of them at home it is a bit hard to spend hours in the studio working on my assemblages. I am thinking of having some of these works available as prints and adding to both series.

Opening Night Invitation

I was asked to create a babushka character for a clients daughter. This is what I came up with. Happy artist and a very happy client. Horrah.

New work...

It has been a busy week in the studio. I had some pieces of plywood left over from some other projects so I decided to drag out the jigsaw and cut out some birds from them. I then proceeded to get busy with papers, paint, stamps and rub ons to create the works below...

I have also been busy finishing off an assemblage I started last week. Creating assemblages has become a favourite way to spend time in the studio these days. I love taking things that others have discarded and making them into works of art.
