The amazing Sara Fanelli

A truly fantastic illustrator...I am in love with the creations of Sara Fanelli. She is an incredibly talented woman.
To keep with tonight's theme I have chosen some of her flying characters. To see more of her work visit http://www.sarafanelli.com/

Magnus Muhr and his dead fly collection

Who would think that dead flies would make great subjects for art? Swedish Photographer Magnus Muhr -thats who. With nothing more than imagination, dead flies, pencils and his camera he created these fantastic characters.

I personally find them wonderful and highly amusing.Nothing like seeing a flies doing Riverdance or urinating on the wall to put a smile on your face.

Shades - Illustration Friday

As soon as I saw the theme for this week the line "the futures so bright I gotta wear shades", so I had to run with it. I can't for the life of me think of the band who sang it or if that was the title of the song - it just seemed appropriate.

Flying ladies

" I want to get away, I want to fly away..."
My as yet untitled flying ladies are almost completed, so I thought you might like a sneak peek.

This is how they looked last week ...

just need a bit more paint and glue, and sort them out to be hung and these ladies are ready for action. Love to hear what you think of them.

Sketchbook pages

I have been having a play this weekend, just wanting to loosen up a little. This piece was started while sitting in front of the tv mucking around while watching a movie, and evolved into a completed artwork over the weekend...

The following are all play around pieces I have done using newspaper, paper, acrylic and ink...

Work in Progress

As always I have been busy but a lot of my work is in various stages of completion at the moment (9 at last count!). So I thought I would pop up occasional updates to show you some of the things I am up to.
Today we have some of my mixed medium artwork. I have just given my flying ladies a bisque fire and they are now ready to be painted. Then I intend to use fabric, wire, beads and embellishments to create wings, clothing, headpieces and more.
I can't wait to get started.
